Positive Dog Training

About Me

My Story

Hi!

I am a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB), registered with the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC)  and the Animal Behaviour Training Council (ABTC). I am also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). My methods of training are welfare focused and reward based, making them fun, bond-building activities for dogs and their owners.

I always had dogs growing up and was actively involved in their training. My most recent dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross called Poppy, was my biggest challenge (let's just say she came with some quirks!)  and inspiration to pursue a career in canine behaviour. I decided to pursue dog training and graduated from the University of Bristol with a First Class Honours Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare Science in 2018. Following graduation, I began dog walking, before moving to Exeter and becoming senior coach for Dogs Trust Dog School Devon (2018-2019). I then set up my business in 2020 and became a trainer and behaviourist for The Mutty Professor, owned by Roz Pooley (CAB). Since then I have gained experience and the title of CAB (with the APBC and ABTC) and continue to work for The Mutty Professor as well as running my own business.

I  continue to keep myself up to date with modern research on canine behaviour by attending various courses, webinars, seminars and conferences. As a full member of The APBC I am required to complete more than 30 hours a year. I am always happy to provide a list of my CPD for clients on request :)

I love to educate owners on how to read, communicate and build strong relationships with four pawed family members!
